For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

About Me

My name is DeShaun (DJ) Dumas, Jr. and I am part of the graduating class of 2026. I am a versatile WR who is skilled at receiving, blocking, kick-off returns and passing. I have a very high football IQ.  I've been playing the game since I was five years old, and my love for the game has never diminished. I enjoy outsmarting my opponents with strategy and physicality. I also have a strong academic standing--3.8 GPA with AP and honors classes.

I am a true STUDENT of the game. I study plays and techniques consistently to continue to learn and grow as an athlete. I am a natural-born leader who appreciates the importance of working as a team, and I always look for ways to be the best asset possible to the team.

My goal is to continue playing at the collegiate level field and major in Business and Sports Administration so that I can one day coach and spark kids' interest in business and entrepreneurship through sports. I believe that being competitive in football helps to shape players for success on and off the field, which is why I authored my first workbook, The Math End Zone, to help kids connect the concepts of football to math. Read more about The Math End Zone below and follow me on Twitter and Hudl to learn more about my football journey.

Why it Matters
Participation in youth sports contributes to higher levels of academic achievement and creativity, improved social skills, and improved physical and mental health. Having a strong foundation in math promotes problem-solving, reasoning, analytical thinking, and even equips students with the tools they need for financial literacy. Involvement in team sports, such as football, also helps to build skills needed to succeed in life such as accountability, teamwork, goals-setting, and leadership.
